Titans, Villains for hire 1
Huh, I guess, that some heroes are expendable. Funny thing - both Marvel and DC tend to kill off their size-changing heroes, which they have plenty. It’s the second Atom, maybe they should follow the footsteps of Henry Pym, so far only Giant-Man that is alive (other than Stature) and sucessful - mostly due to constant changes in his appearances and names.

Cover of Ultimate X-Men, issue 60
Wolverine slicing it with Yuriko, aka Death Strike. I must say, that Marvel remade whole story of the X-Men quite good. Everything makes so much more sense than in original universe, probably because it didn’t start at the time, when heroes obligatory had to fight each other before they could team-up. Back then it was all about suspense and surprise, now it should be within reasonable standards. Not to mention that writers are much better, plots’ve gotten more complex, characters don’t fall with such an ease to the cathegories of black or white…
Do you like more golden age stories or nowadays?

The Amazing Spider-Man #630, page 8
Interior art by Chris Bachalo; what is wrong with all the women around Spidey? He’s such a boy-scout most of the time, is it really a turn-on for girls? Peter Parker’s personal life seems non-existent, but he still is able to hook up with a one per month. Seriously, would you go to bed with him?

Cover of Ultimate X-Men #92
I’ve recently decided to read whole Ultimate X-Men just out of curiosity regarding this cover. I am now at the late 60-ties issues. Have to say, there are some cool covers.

Spider-man #5 cover art by Patrick Scherberger
Aren’t they rejuvenating Pete too much? Not so long ago he had wife and kid (for a while) and since One more day, he seems to be almost in college again.

Amazing Lizard art from ASM 630 by Bachalo
His style kind of reminds Humberto Ramos’, don’t you think? I very much like color-palette, that he uses. It’s giving a vintage feel to pictures. BTW: Lizard by him is very similar to the Godzilla but with a bit more crocodile jaw. He went too far here, didn’t he?

Hero of the Week - Iron Man
There are so many ways to play with Iron Man idea… That’s among one of my favorite - Iron Man as a knight. Love the eye-holes and medieval armor. Probably some steam-punk would be also involved in it. Great concept. You have to admire the colors used by creators of Iron Man, they are awesome together.

Villain of the Week - Green Goblin
Last day of Normie in charge of the world. He couldn’t keep Green Goblin inside him for much longer. It’s surprising, that Osborn could grow to be so big of a figure in the universe where Norse Gods walk in pairs with ordinary people. He’s nothing more than second-league foe for those of Fantastic Four or Avengers kind. And yet he dethroned (defenestrated) Iron Man himself. It took combined forces of all the Avengers and Asgardians to take him down. And one more thing: I can’t believe they planned it for 7 years…

Hero of the Week - Iron Man
I am not the biggest fan of Marvel’s Noir comics, but you can’t take one thing from them: they surely know how to redesign their characters. Helmet, gloves, forearm and torso armor concepts look amazing. Maybe they should incorporate some of that work in Earth 616’s Iron Man armor?

Most important Female characters - Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew)
For a laic she appears to be just a female version of well-established hero: Spider-Man. But she isn’t. Comparing to Peter Parker, Jessica Drew has a lot more going on in her life. She takes on way bigger targets, like Hydra. Damn, she’s a part of S.H.I.E.L.D! So why do I have a feeling, that her work is unimportant? Marvel makes a big mistake. Instead of putting tits on well known heroes, they should try to create new ones. But they want to milk the cow…

Artist of the Week - Humberto Ramos
Last content picture regarding Humberto Ramos as My Priorities’ Artist of the Week may not be what you expected… It’s a proof that Humberto did visit this site and “loves it”. I couldn’t find any better way to say good-bye to him. It doesn’t mean, I won’t publish here his drawings anymore. I will.
What have I learned about Ramos’ art during this week? His style is very cartoonish, but not simplistic. Most of the women he draws have the same body, but it doesn’t mean, he can’t, because I’ve seen, that he can. Comics as a medium constrain him to depict female bodies in one way. I’d like to see from time to time a realistic picture by him.
Who would you like to be next week’s AotW?

Villain of the Week - Green Goblin
Holly shit! This is the face of insanity itself! It’s a really great piece of illustration, but I can’t imagine a whole comic stylized this way. It would appear that everybody broke out of mental institution. Nevertheless, I find that picture a piece of art. Emotions just fly around.

Most important Female characters - Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew)
I know what’s it all about. Women in the Marvel Universe have to forge their own legacy. For most of the time they were just breasted side-kicks to real heroes. But it’s changing. Not rapidly. Characters like Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man or Wolverine are beloved by fans, have their own personalities, while most of the women in Marvel are some sort of spin-offs of those legimate, male figures. They slowly earn they way to hearts of readers and with some time, I am sure, that they will someday play a bigger part. Like Wonder Woman in DC Universe.

Marvel’s inconsistency

They say, that Siege is an event 7 (10?) years in the making. Bullshit. If it were, there wouldn’t be so many incosistencies. For an example: where is Hulk? Where is Fantastic Four? Moreover, most of characters acting in the Siege in their personal stories have nothing to do with the Siege. Spider-man currently tries to dig up his life from failure of J.J.Jameson’s accusation of photoshopping. Captain America has some weirdos to take care of and there’s also decision about the shield waiting. Iron Man tries to assemble his mind again…

Previously mentioned Hulk takes that even further. He took some of the most important characters (8 most intelligent people on the Earth) and placed them inside of his Inteligencia War.

X-Men have their own war to fight. Except for the Wolverine, who appears to have some new mutant teleporting powers. This is the only way I can explain, that he’s able to play a big part in 4 different stories.

Marvel, get yourself together!
